Our mission is to serve the greater community of Las Vegas with our professionally licensed tutors and teachers with the highest quality of education and understanding.

Our Story

Our story started when Shanon, co-founder, and Brian, co-founder, met at a BJ’s restaurant here at Las Vegas to meet up for dinner one-time since they no longer worked together and it’s been 5 years since they last saw each other. The conversation started with the good, the bad, and then the ugly; you know the typical conversation that one would have. Shanon mentioned that he had quite a few private tutoring clients and couldn’t necessarily take on any new clients and asked Brian what he thought of a tutoring company. Brian previously owned a tutoring company. Brian thought it was a good idea and offered his advice and expertise. Shanon took it home with him and thought on it for two weeks before he decided to meet up with Brian again.

Two weeks later, Brian and Shanon meet at Cheesecake Factory to enjoy some brunch and dessert. Shanon decided to ask Brian if he’d like to be his partner in this long journey together because they had both had a similar dream. A dream to be able to help more then the students they were helping at their current schools. To be able to assist students all over the city with a variety of subjects. This is what started Silver State Tutoring.

Our story has not yet finished; therefore, this will be a work in progress.

Shanon is currently a 7th grade Math Teacher while Brian is currently an Assistant Principal.
